“Collated Observations is a series of regular photozines showcasing aspects of twenty-first century Britain through the lens of a different photographer each issue. For our debut edition we are delighted to present the work of Worcestershire based photographer Steve Till. Steve has a broad portfolio working in both fashion and commercial photography, but it’s his opportunistic street shots that have garnered the most attention. Steve’s images capitalise on strong light and the ever-changing British weather to evoke a peaceful melancholy in often banal surroundings.” A limited edition of 75 hand numbered copies.
In photography, the golden hour is the period
of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight
is redder and softer than when the Sun is higher in the sky. The period
of time shortly before sunrise and shortly after sunset is called the ”magic hour,” especially by cinematographers. (Wiki)
Something I should do more of is shoot in the golden hour. I’ve never been a great fan of the yellow colour of the light to be honest but I’ve recently been warming to it.
Here’s one from a recent early morning walk. A lovely old workhorse, a 1943 Dodge still in use as recovery vehicle.
